How It Works
Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites transmit signals which allow an in-vehicle GPS receiver to determine the vehicle's position, speed, and direction of travel.
The GPS data, along with vehicle status information and operator messages, are sent over a wireless network to a secure central data center.
Vehicle information is accessed by a computer connected to the Internet, and displayed with Geographical Information System (GIS) software.
Text messages can be created and sent back to an in-vehicle message terminal.
